We recently went to a pumpkin farm not too far from us. We've been going there every year since the boys were small.
They have so many things to see and do.
So many pumpkins ...
The house looks a little hazy. They had just started a a fire in a big hickory pit for grilling. The haziness was from the smoke. I've got to tell you ... The smell was heavenly!
Animals ...
More pumpkins ... These particularly jumbo-sized pumpkins are called "Cow Pumpkins". They probably weigh between thirty and sixty pounds.

Indian Corn ...
Gourds and more gourds ...
We actually got to the farm early to avoid the huge crowds. Later on in the day, however, they also have a maze, food and craft vendors, rides, and live music.
Such a fun place to spend a few glorious autumn hours!
After we left, we passed this hill that's just down the road. I have a weird round-about relationship to this hill.
I'll tell you about it sometime.
I just love October ...
Happy October everyone!!
Happy October everyone!!

Your photographs, as always, take my breath away!! I love pictures of pumpkins, and yours have a mystical, ethereal quality about them.
Can't wait to hear the story of the hill. :o)

The photo of the pumpkins with the hazy house is just gorgeous.
And the one with all those gourds! Don and I are most interested in that. He grew about 20, and they are drying in the barn, though not hanging. I want to paint them and make them into birdhouses and lamps. Let's see if that gets done. :|
What a nice place, don't you love it?
Dearest Elle,
Thanks so much! That color of the pumpkins just screams Fall, doesn't it?
Happy birthday to the twins!!!!
Thanks so much Ruth!
I love those gourds. Although we've never grown them, I have several that we've acquired over the years that have been painted and cut to look like jack-o-lanterns. They give quite the special eerie touch at Halloween!
Yes, you'll get around to painting yours and when you do, I want to see pictures. You are such a talent!
Oh, that picture with the hazy house is just perfect! I love the way they have the white pumpkins in a line. That is a lot of gourds! Ours didn't do squat.
I love your October header! So pretty!
Dear Susan,
There were lots of gourds, weren't there? We usually take a picture of them, but I never see anyone buy them!
Thank you!
Love the pictures.. I want to go there! These are the things you miss out on living where I do.
Thank you for taking me with you!
